With the goal of expanding race-running opportunities for mothers who are breastfeeding, a group called &Mother, a nonprofit dedicated to breaking the barriers that limit a woman’s choice to pursue both career and motherhood and Mamava, the category creator of freestanding lactation pods, have entered into an expanded partnership that will provide designated lactation spaces at a dozen major road races and their expos across the country this year. The &Mother and Mamava collaboration builds on their support at 2022 running races, including the TCS New York City Marathon and the Allyson Felix Race for Change, and kicked off 2023 with the 13th Annual She.is.Beautiful Santa Cruz 5K & 10K and the United Airlines NYC Half in March.
Mamava lactation suites, or pods, are freestanding spaces that provide a dignified, comfortable and private option to breastfeed or pump. The pods are accessed through the Mamava app, which guides users to a pod’s location and provides secure keyless entry. Mamava pods help organizations – from airports and stadiums, schools and private businesses – to come into compliance with lactation space legislation and support breastfeeding parents. Mamava also donates pop-up inflatable pods to support pumping parents at conferences and events, celebrating the idea that breastfeeding and pumping happen everywhere.
