Fleet Feet is putting on its fourth annual Share the Run Challenge, partnering with Black Girls RUN! (BGR!) and Saucony to inspire communities to move, promote active allyship and raise funds for BGR!. Throughout the challenge – which runs the entire month of February – participants can pick distances of 20, 60 or 100 mile.

Share The Run is all about getting individuals and communities moving. So Fleet Feet and its partners are urging people to grab a friend, set their own goals and create a fitness routine that’s as unique as every individual. Together, each “team” will hold each other accountable and celebrate victories, big or small.

Plus, as a community the effort is raising funds to support Black Girls RUN!  Here’s how it works:

1. Participants choose a movement goal for the month of February: 20, 60  or 100 miles

2. They then walk or run at their own pace, on their own schedule and log their miles in RunSignup by March 1.

3. When they complete the challenge and they earn a special offer at Fleet Feet.

The goal is to motivate as many people as possible to set goals, log miles and create lasting habits. Registration is free at https://runsignup.com/Race/NC/Anywhere/SharetheRun.

Originally founded to tackle the growing obesity epidemic in the African-American community and provide encouragement and resources to both new and veteran runners, Black Girls RUN! has become a strong voice in the running community for previously underrepresented women.

“We believe every woman, regardless of race or background, should have the opportunity to lead a healthy and active lifestyle,” says Jay Ell Alexander, the owner and CEO of Black Girls RUN! “Events like Share the Run help break down stereotypes and barriers, encourage inclusivity, and empower women of color to embrace the joy of running."
