The COVID-19 pandemic that has swept the globe has highlighted some unsung heroes that are often overlooked or taken for granted — healthcare workers and first responders. These are the people that make themselves available at any given moment to serve, protect, rescue and restore us to good health. They are paramedics, nurses, doctors and other healthcare providers that are on the front lines as this new enemy wreaks havoc on people indiscriminately. Unfortunately, our heroes have limited tools to fight back with.
In their battle against this new enemy, one of the primary defenses our healthcare workers have is facemasks, including isolation, surgical and most importantly respirator masks. These masks filter the enemy virus out of the air they breathe, which protects them from contracting it and then being prone to its destruction. Due to the increased usage of these masks, many of these heroes are facing yet another new adversary — face irritation. Of course, this isn’t nearly as bad as the virus itself, but it is an adversary they would much rather not deal with, especially on top of the extra-long hours and problematic new challenges they are already having to shoulder.
Recognizing this problem, Medi-Dyne and Fleet Feet Sports in Augusta, GA, have partnered to combat this new adversary. Their idea is to provide SportShield Chafing and Blister protection wipes to their local healthcare facilities for anyone developing irritation on the face due to mask use.
For years, Fleet Feet has provided SportShield to their runners and other athletes to help prevent chafing and other skin irritations. They truly understand the value of SportShield’s unique formula for prevention of skin irritation under the grueling conditions experienced in marathons, ultra-marathons, long distant biking, triathalons and so on. SportShield’s invisible formula lasts all day, is sweat-proof, water-proof and also contains skin-soothing aloe and vitamin E.
