As more people are seeking activity in the outdoors, Darn Tough Vermont, the American manufacturer of premium performance outdoor and lifestyle socks, has unveiled its Spring 2021 collection.
With an entirely redesigned Run collection, the brand is also expanding its cult classic ‘Light Hiker’ style to multiple heights.
Two years in the making, the Run Category has been completely revamped top to bottom. Under the laces, these socks have been reconstructed to meet the demands of the next leg. New technical features include targeted ultra-lightweight cushioning in the footbed and toe for impact protection, reinforced high-wear zones for increased durability over long distances, a high-performance upper with multi-zoned mesh for ventilation and comfort, and a supportive performance fit through the arch to reduce fatigue.
“As running gains momentum during these unprecedented times, the launch of our new collection is perfectly synched to give these athletes both the performance and style they’re seeking” says Lyn Feinson, VP of Product Design and Development. “We worked closely with a core group of professional runners to develop our most technical Merino sock yet.”
In the Hike category, after updates to the Light Hiker Micro Crew last year, the same tech enhancements are coming to the no-show and quarter heights.
Features include mesh panels along the top of the foot for increased breathability, an enhanced performance zone to alleviate foot fatigue and bunching for all-day comfort and zero slipping, and 1x1 knit ribbing for a smooth, low-profile fit.
In the Lifestyle category, bright, bold patterns and updated fit round out Darn Tough’s new Lifestyle releases. Its no-show, hidden styles feature a new soft silicone gripper to hold the sock in place, an updated shape to dip below low-profile footwear and a reinforced knit through the length of the foot.
